For those who didn't believe me when I told them I had a donkey-grooming chicken.

Gosh, I live in Chapel Hill now! I could come hear you play. Maybe I have (I've heard that local klezmer band the name of which I now can't remember). At least, I could if I could get someone to stay with my disabled husband. Or bring him with me.

The evolving dynamics of your pets are amazing-- they are becoming a family!

Hi Jane, great photos! This is your neighbor Katja (on Cascade). I just came across your blog via a friend of a friend of a friend on Facebook... six degrees... I love it! I didn't know you had chickens and a horse, in addition to Jethro. You've seen me around FONH with my little girls, 18 months and 3 years old. They think everybody has a donkey living down the street. We love seeing and hearing him.

Perhaps the chicken is eating the ticks on Jethro? I've heard that chickens think ticks are a delicacy. Jethro doesn't seem to mind.

Aw, I *love* this! My one donkey, Chet, is just not happy around smaller critters and will try to stomp 'em if they get in range, so I don't see much of a donkey-grooming chicken future around here. Though, Beau, my other donk would probably enjoy this a great deal. :-)
Great pictures!
