Good Morning!

I saw your netflix list and was a little dissappointed at the missing new-latino/mexican film. I see one (just one?) of your 5-star flix is All About My Mother by Almodovar. So I took the liberty of including below some of my suggestions that I think you might enjoy.

Bad Education
Motorcycle Diaries
Amores Perros
Carne Tremula
Sexo, Pudor Y Lagrimas (one of my all time favorites)
Santitos (not that good but funny)

There are more, of course, but you can just netflix the genre and see a good list.

Enjoy!

As to the above comment, what about Almodovar's "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown?" This was a wonderful farce but eerily prophetic- for some this would be a deal breaker but I still like it.
I love this list and I offer a suggestion. If you can find it, get "Night of the Shooting Stars." It's in Italian with subtitles
Here's a movie buff story: when I was a little kid, about eight, I listened with much interest to my older brother as he excitedly described to my mother a wonderful movie that he had seen the previous night. Some 20+ years later I remembered both the incident and the name of the movie, so I rented it, just out of curiosity. It was wonderful, and I understood why a 16 year-old would love it. It was "Cool Hand Luke." I hadn't spoken to my brother in YEARS (there had been an estrangement, he lived thousands of miles away, etc.) As a way of connecting, I decided to call him and tell him about remembering him as a teenager and so on. He listened, and in a tone that had the edge of "gee, you need to move on" he said, "Yeah that's a good movie but I've seen a movie that's even better that you should see." "What?" I asked, expecting to be blown away by the sage insight of this enigmatic figure from my childhood.

"Ghostbusters."

Try 'Zero Effect' with Bill Pullman and Ben Stiller? It's 5 star in it's (own) genre?

I actually saw Zero Effect recently and did kind of like it. Thanks for the tip!

Kolya. I can't say why I love it so, but I've seen it three times over the years since it came out - most recently a few nights ago -and I'm riveted each time.
I know it's partly the Russian and Czech language interplay.
And the music (classical; the central character is a cello player).
And the little boy Kolya.

I agree, Kolya was a very sweet movie!
