The city where I grew up, you stipulated pizza size by 8-slice, 12-slice, etc. When I moved away, I had a hard time adjusting to ordering by small, medium, and large. I've asked "how many slices?" — the response: "how many slices would you like?"
I've seen a few places list size by diameter, which is the most objective measure. Am very curious about other cities' pizza habits.
