A Skeptic's Complaint considered.

At Two Percent Company -- site of this week's Skeptics' Circle -- it's Allison DuBois Week. Allison DuBois is the real-live woman on whom the show "Medium" has been based, a psychic who supposedly helps the police with puzzling crimes.

Simplistically abstracted, Two Percent's complaint is that Allison is not really a psychic. A very well argued case, by the way!

False psychicness aside, I like Medium because

1. I often feel lonely Monday night and Patricia Arquette is good company;
   
   
2. Jake Weber (Joe, the husband) is cute and has an incredibly sexy voice.

I also like the tone of the show, sort of depressed and grouchy, and Allison is so high maintenance, and exasperating, and she and her husband growl at each other a lot but he's patient and appreciative anyway. I would like to think somebody could be that patient with and appreciative of a high maintenance woman. Theoretically.
